Have you ever gazed at a street and thought, 'Wow, that could be turned into a fantastic mini-golf course'? Probably not, but we certainly have.
We have been granted access to some of the most cutting-edge technologies by Google's AR team to investigate how we can transform any building and street anywhere in the world into a playable space.

Mega Golf is a straightforward mini-golf-style game that you can play in your neighborhood using augmented reality, powered by ARCore .

It's a demo, running in Unity, and it's open-source. You can access the project here and try it out for yourself.

With the Streetscape Geometry API , your location is transformed into a Mega Golf course in AR. In this demo, a hole is placed at your location, and a giant golf ball appears in front of you. You can use the buildings around you to bounce the ball, avoiding obstacles to score points.

As you play, the Scene Semantics API keeps you informed about your surroundings, informing you about people, moving vehicles, and other city and landscape elements around you.
